Novice Member. Apr 7, 2016. #1. Hi all! So, my girlfriend owns a Crosley Keepsake turntable. It all works fine (I adjusted the motor so unlike most crosleys it actually spins at the right speeds!), except for a very loud hum when in operation. I noticed that while holding the tonearm, the hum is dramatically reduced Famous for their cheap, low-end, all-in-one portable record players, Crosley appeals to many people not interested in a high-end record player for its sound generating abilities. However, even for a cheap turntable, there are a lot of reasons you should never buy a Crosley record player, in my opinion
. I can't open the cd player on my crosley and I can't get to. I can't open the cd player on my crosley and I can't get to the outlet on my own. Is there another way? There is no cd in the tray and the system clicks as if trying to open but it doesn't Unfortunately playing at the wrong speed or fluctuation is a characteristic of all Crosleys tables and of all other Skywin made tables. So unfortunately the issue here is the Crosley. Theyre very low end pieces of crap tables and are known to destroy records slowly.
The following reason your record player could give you distorted sound is that you don't keep the motor running. Any issues with the motor will have the record player giving you warped sound because it is the motor that ensures the record player is playing. Always confirm the motor is up and running when you are using your record player My record player sounds slightly high pitched. A few months ago my records started sounding really high pitched. I went in to see if the belt slipped, and it had, I fixed it and then it sounded a lot better, but still not quite right. Which is where I am now. I just switched out the needle so it's not that I would imagine
My Crosley (piece of junk record player) won't work. Can I fix it? Follow Question; 0 Great Question; Asked by Jeremycw1 (1370) February 23rd, 2011 I'm borrowing my friends P.O.S. record player for awhile til I get mine fixed but the turntable simply won't turn it was before, but when it got to the end of a record, it stopped and won. Welcome to the world of cheap record players. That Crosley probably has a crystal cartridge and may have a worn stylus. If the stylus is damaged, you may have ruined that record forever. Get a better system The answer is yes, but whether or not it is economically feasible is another question. If you can gain access to the laser lens, try gently cleaning it using a cotton swab and alcohol. Sometimes a buildup of dirt/dust can interfere with the laser and prevent the unit from reading the CD properly. If that fails, the next thing would be to.
Enjoy the Rich, Warm Sound of Vinyl on the Go. Put down the iPod and mobilize your music with the Crosley Cruiser three-speed portable turntable. Constructed of wood and bound in a leatherette material, the briefcase-styled record player is lightweight and easily transported. Built-in stereo speakers allow listening to music without having to. My guess is that your problem is being caused by too light tracking or, given that you've used it for 3-4 years, its possible that the stylus needs replacing. A longer possibility is a warp in the record. Odd that you would encounter a bunch at the same time, though Unless you play the same record multiple times a day every day of the week, I don't see the Crosley doing much to the record that makes it destroyed. There's videos on YouTube where people have experimented with Cruisers and even they say that there's no immediate damage imparted on a record after a normal amount playtime on a Cruiser Crosley Cruiser skipping problem: why Crosleys skip. A lot of people complain about records skipping on their brand new Crosley Cruiser turntable. Often, Crosley owners think there is a problem with one of their records rather than the turntable because only certain records will skip
My mother used to own a record player that was luggage-type and I clearly remember playing my children' records placing a coin at the top of the tone arm. Often, the vibration caused by speakers is enough to knock the stylus out of the groove, causing skipping and damaging the record at the place where the stylus lands on the record again. This causes skipping on Crosley, GPO, ION and other cheap turntables with built in speakers Why do people buy Crosley record players? Because they're lazy, and they have to have it now. But I'll never understand why someone would decide to get into records and play them on such a machine---the sound quality is so bad that it negates any sonic difference that a record would make vs any other medium
